Capítulo 3 - The Kasumi's friend

The next day, Kasumi had woken up to go to the Oca de Ensino. She had red eyes, as she could not sleep when she noticed that a colleague of hers was repairing her. He seemed to have looked at her with curiosity or by discrimination of her light color. Kasumi couldn't sleep because he wondered why she was staring at her like that.

She drank her coffee and Tupi, who was waiting for her, said:

 - Kasumi, I'm worried about you.

 - Why are you worried? - Ask the little one.

 - You have been learning from Pagan since you were five years old the concepts of becoming an important person for our tribe. But what worries me is that you have no one to talk to or anything like that. - said Tupi. - Kasumi, I love you, no matter how you are, but it worries me that you are entering a path of being antisocial.

Kasumi would look at him a little worried and say:

 - It's my fault for being shy. - He paused and continued: "I was never one to socialize for my shyness, but also for the fear of being who I am and at the same time being reprimanded.

 Tupi looked at her worried.

 - I love you too, Dad, but... - she looked at your hand. - Why am I different from the others?

Tupi would look at her seriously and say:

 - Kasumi, before she talked to you about your origins, I want you to be old enough to understand me. Not that you are ignorant, you are even very intelligent, but there are certain moments that have their right time to happen. I assure you that in at least 5 years I will tell you everything you want to know.

Kasumi seemed satisfied, but showed no emotion in it. She hugs her father, who then said:

 - Come on.

They were walking to Oca and there was a Pagan receiving a student.

 - Good morning, Jaciara. - said Pagan.

Jaciara was second in her class. Kasumi mastered a wisdom equal to that of Jê and Jaciara has the gift of teaching. She wants to be like Pagan when she grows up.

 - Good morning, teacher. - said the girl.

Kasumi looked at her and searched their minds. It was the same girl who stared at her. In those 5 years studying, she never noticed or knew Jaciara's whereabouts. She was in Oca, and Kasumi with Tupi went to Pagan.

 - Good morning, Kasumi. - said Pagan.

 - Good morning, teatcher. - said Kasumi.

Jaciara was sociable, cheerful and loved to help his colleagues. Kasumi was already the opposite. Serious, "antisocial" and ashamed to talk to anyone.

The girl hugged her father and went into Oca. The Hollow was not small, it was actually six hollows, which would represent walls of a classroom, one separated from the other, forming a large circle.

 - Kasumi, they took their place at the front. Why don't you sit further back? - said Pagan.

Kasumi was ashamed, but he said it was all right, that he would do it.

He sat next to Jaciara and she didn't notice. Pagan was starting her class, until the redhead looked at Jaciara, attentive. She blushes and looks at Pagan again. She seemed nervous because she had no idea what would happen next.

 - What's up? - a docile voice inquires about Kasumi's emotional state.

She looks at who has that voice and it was Jaciara.

 - Y-yes. - answers the redhead.

Jaciara smiles and speaks:

 - I want to talk to you in the playground.

Kasumi looked at her and said:

 - It's okay.

Jaciara smiled and returned to pay attention in class.

Later, at playtime, Kasumi and Jaciara were still at Oca de Pagã, alone. Jaciara speaks:

 - I am Jaciara Potira. You must be Kasumi, right?

She looks at the girl and says:

 - Yes.

 - Why is she nervous? - Ask Jaciara.

 - Aren't you going to criticize me? For not being like you? - Ask Kasumi.

 - Of course not. Who am I to judge you? - answers Jaciara wisely. - I wanted to tell you that I admire you as first in class. You must not have noticed me too much because I was shackled in your thoughts, but I noticed you and enjoyed sitting next to me and wanted to know you better.

 Kasumi was sad and said:

 - What good is it to know me if I don't even know myself?

 - Really? - asked Jaciara. - But why is that? Let me help you.

Kasumi looks at her and says:

 - My father will tell me everything, but he expects me to mature enough.

Jaciara looks at her and speaks:

 - Well, you must be the chief's daughter, so you'd be like a princess, right?

 - Yes, but that's what makes me afraid and ashamed too. - said Kasumi. - Because I'm a princess that colleagues can envy me.

 - It may even happen, but if someone does you any harm, I'll defend you.

 Kasumi turns red.

 - I want to be your friend. Will you let me?

Kasumi couldn't believe his ears. Jaciara, the second best student in her class wants to be your friend. She didn't really know the meaning of the word friendship, but she answered:

 - Yes, I do. Jaciara.

They embraced each other and from then on began to treat each other as such. Since Kasumi knew nothing about herself, Jaciara told us about her life. She said she lost her parents after the Hitachi Tribe attack. She became an orphan, but it was Shaman Jê who took care of her and supported her, just as Pagan did in his studies. Kasumi loved to hear about her new friend and increasingly wanted her around. Both were very united, helping each other in their studies and practicing a little of their skills with each other after school. Tupi and Jê knew this and allowed them to train a little.

This happened from Kasumi enjoying her new friend and then 6 years passed. One year Tupi did not break the silence to talk about the origins of Kasumi, but the redhead respected that and just waited. But here is something that brings Kasumi back to his past.

It was night and Tupi was standing on the wall of his house. He was 55, Jê 85 and Pagan 52. The chief calls Kasumi, who was coming home.

The redhead was a goddess. Her short hair grew and turned into long hair with an even more striking shade. The tip of her long hair reached her waist. She wore a kimono she had made herself, a short not too short and was still bare feet. Until her adolescence, where the redhead would now be 16 years old, in the year 2015, she would have reached an experience far beyond her age and dominated the fifth element. But she did not have this resistance to heat and cold as others did and the other ability to master fire.

 - Kasumi, the time has come. - said Tupi. - I will tell you the truth about her origin.

Suddenly, in some hidden bushes, a man who resembled what when Kasumi was being born hides in that place. They were supposed to feel it, but why didn't they? He pulls out a knife with the curved end and aimed at Tupi. He did all that while they were talking.

 - You found me in a river? - Ask the redhead.

 - I imagine Tupi sent her to me. - said Tupi.

Kasumi would look at him and say:

 - Father, be rational. Tupã is an indigenous god. I have a name that I believe has another origin. I can't be Indian. My hair is red. My skin is light and...

 - Then how did you master our five elements? - Ask Tupi.

Kasumi looks at him and speaks:

 - Because you and Jaciara have taken care of me, besides Pagan.

Tupi is in shock. Kasumi would be learning to master the five elements on behalf of the people who supported her. The man throws the knife through Tupi's chest. Kasumi is surprised and asks for help when he helps his father. Jaciara appears and speaks:

 - I take care of your father. Go after the man! - points to where the knife would be being thrown.

Kasumi felt the urge to do justice with his hands and ran after him. She had acquired superhuman ability, which means she would be stronger, faster and smarter than an ordinary person. These abilities she alone had acquired and no one else.

The man would run and watch Kasumi run after him. He would then be making gestures with his hands and make the trees fall on him, but Kasumi would create a force field around him and chase him again. He was even faster and finally reaches him and knocks him down on the ground. She stays on top of him and immobilizes him.

 - Who are you? - asks Kasumi, who, on seeing his face, looked a lot like her traits.

 - Hahaha. - the man laughed.

Kasumi tightens his neck.

 - If you kill me, you won't know your origins. - he said.

She'll be surprised and get off him.

 - Who are you? - Ask Kasumi.

 - Kasumi. You look so beautiful. - I'd put my hand on the back of her head. - I'm the one who'll give you a challenge.

- Challenge? - Ask Kasumi.

 - Yes. If you go to Japan and go to Mount Fuji and take the Elixir of Life and deliver me to save your father, who will die in a week, I'll speak all you want. - I said.

 - Why did you hit my father, YOUR MONSTRO?! - Kasumi was angry.

 - If you get angry or don't do what I want, I'll end up with your father first. - He said. - My name is Kare Ando and I am controlling his heart with my mind. But if you don't do what I ask... - he laughs with evil. - YOUR FATHER WILL DIE!!! HAHAHAHA

He strings his fingers and goes. Kasumi didn't believe what he saw. Tupi would die and she would be alone, because he created her. She kneels down and starts crying.

 - Tupi, why? - She'd ask, crying.

She lays down on the floor. It would start raining and she would cry a lot. What would Kasumi do now? Will she be able to save her father?
