Chapter 20

“Well, she is very fierce. We could call her Brave. Like the movie.” Mia suddenly forgot about everything else and was completely excited with it. “Or Fluffy. I like that too. What do you think of Judith?”

‘I swear to God, if you call me one of those names I will make your life a living hell.’ Yeah. She was not happy about it.

“Hum, let’s have more ideas, Shaw we? I don’t think she likes it.”

“Uh, I know!! Call her Black devil! It’s very badass.” Ok, that wasn’t helping. I looked at her for a few minutes. She was very disciplined, like one of those Japanese characters from the fighting movies I use to watch. It seemed like she was always in control of herself. The name came to me automatically and I loved it.

“I know what’s going to be her name!! Katana. What do you guys think? It’s a Japanese sword. I think it fits her better.” I look at her for her approval.

‘Yeah. I think it’s good. Better then Wolfy I suppose.’ She nodded her head.

‘Yey…First step to having a spirit. Check. Second step. Show you around so everyone can be jealous.’ I played with Katana.

“What about the wolf? What should I call him? She is Katana because of her gentle and controlled way. He is brute and aggressive.” I told the girls.

“I guess we should call him Claymore then.” Gwen joked.

“That’s not a bad idea. I actually liked a lot.” Katana nodded once more “ It’s settled.  It’s going to be Kat and Clay against the world. It has a good sound to it huh?”

“Totally. It’s going to be very fun to show her tomorrow, but we should really sleep now. It’s almost three in the morning, and we have to wake up early tomorrow.” Mia was barely awaken over Rin. The rhino was already snoring.

“Okay. Let’s do this. Good night guys.” We all changed clothes in silence and got ready to sleep. Each one of us trying to process what happened in the last hours. I guess I couldn’t believe in anything yet, and tomorrow I would wake up to find out it was not just a dream. And I was very excited for the day of tomorrow. When I finished getting dressed, I looked at Katana, who was watching my every move the whole time.

‘Would you like to sleep with me tonight?’ I told her, hoping she would say yes.

‘I’m not sure if that is allowed.’ She said already walking toward the bed.

‘It’s all right. I don’t really care about that. I just need to have you here to make sure that I’m not crazy when I wake up tomorrow.’ The bed was hardly big enough for both of us, but we managed to fit together. I ended up almost on top of her. I don’t think many people have ever had the luxury of sleeping with a tiger, but I could assure anyone that it was very comfortable.

‘Sleep tight Kayla. You will have a long day tomorrow.’ She rubbed her head on top of mine, as to assure me that she would be there for me.

‘You too.’ I pat her on the shoulder. ‘I am really glad to have you with me. We will have a lot to discuss.’ I checked inside myself to make sure Claymore was locked tightly. He was still pacing incessantly, without ever tiring. I was scared of him. I knew that as long as I kept him locked everything would be fine, but what scared me the most was how he would affect me. Could he mess with my plans of revenge? Would he? I didn’t want to think about it right now. I was too happy to have Katana with me.

The wolf was the biggest curse someone could have. It just appeared when you had some aggressiveness inside of you. And I was quiet sure that my thoughts toward my dad’s killers were what started all of this. But the transition makes every trait bigger. I knew Katana would help me get through this. Or at least I hoped.

I stopped thinking about this now. I was tired and could worry about it later. Katana pulled me closer, feeling my worry. I gave up for now, and then the fatigue took me away and I was fast asleep.
