Lucy is the youngest child and only daughter of Layla and Jude Heartfilia, she has an older brother named Sing, but the moment she was born her father and brother ignored her. She only had her mother, who loves her very much. When Lucy was 4 years old, Layla decided to move Lucy to a better location so that the little girl could have a better childhood. That location being the town of Magnolia, Layla meets a nice man named Akito Strauss. He has 3 kids and is also going through a divorce; they see something in each other that their first partners didn't see in them.
