PROLOGUE:
The day was approaching noon at a fast rate in a rural town of umukoro,two canopies were set outside a large compound with a local house at the extreme.a big table was seen at the outskirts of one of the canopy with a white cloth covering it.it seems like an event was suppose to take place in the compound or it has taken place already.Four elders were seen seating on a wooden bench with red caps visibly seen on their heads and a local walking stick on their hands,they were looking moody and one don't need a soothsayer to apparently know that all was not well.
Mazi okoro:when will this clash stop,it as been a month now since our brother,a whole chief Benson hayomidiez the okanga1 of umukoro died and he still have not been buried.**a renouned man who seem to be the eldest among them bluntly spoke up hitting his walking stick on the ground in the process.
Mazi iyere:the most painful aspect of all this is that,non of the group are willing to back off ,they all insist that they will be in charge of the burial**an elderly man who was sitting at the other end of the bench spoked up shaking his head in a sorrowful mood.
Mazi idem:what about the rumour that is going around the village that he is appearing and dis appearing out mysteriously?.
Mazi okoro:i keep saying it time without numbers that is not a rumour i saw him with my two korokoro eyes (swiping his finger through his face in demonstration)he disappear from the coffin after speaking to us when they were bringing him from the city.
Mazi idem:that is a big lie from the pit of hell,you can't tell me that our own brother ghost is on the loose appearing and disturbing people.
Mazi okoro:if you say it is a lie,can you explain how he was mysteriously seen in his bed here in the village after disappearing from the coffin on the way to the village**he said with his voice a little bit high.
Mazi idem:he did not appear on the bed,they brought and lie him here.
Mazi okoro:can many people be lieing at the same time?,even at that what about his wife speech didn't you hear her or your ear was paining you then?.**he asked raising up his walking stick up above his head.
Mazi okoro:in this case,yes.i stand my ground that it was a lie i don't believe in all this cowardice and i wont believe until i see him appear to me gan gan.**he said and they continue their arguement raising up their voices like market women in a meeting while the other elders were trying to calm them down.just then chief hayomidiez ghost appear in their front standing upright close to them with the white cloth that he was wearing on the bed.the wool that were fixed in his ear and nose were still intact and he was wearing the handglove and the sauce that he was wearing on the bed,they became shocked and fell down from the bench sitting on the floor with their eyes pleading for mercy.
Chief hayomidiez:shey una talk say una wan see me?**he said with a sad voice that seem like he has been crying."upon all the suffer wey i don suffer,i still die finish una no wan bury me make i go rest,please make una bury me na**he said with tears coming down from his eyes.the elders on the floor who has lost their voices,were shocked,perplexed and surprised,then mazi okoro managed to speak up.
Mazi okoro:we...we for don bury you finish na coffin we no see**he said in a voice that was less audible while still seating on the floor with pleading eyes.
Chief hayomidiez:na coffin una dey find ba?,make una wait i dey come**he said and varnished in a twinkle of an eye and the elders fell down on the floor again.
Mazi idem:ewe,so na true,where he even go self?.
Chief iyere:are you asking me?,sit down here and wait for him as for me am going home i get children to take care of**he said and picked up his cap and his walking stick then he ran out of the compound leaving the others behind.
How did this all started?,let go back to the beginning and find out............
